Jobs

On an hourly basis a travel nurse (whether graduate or otherwise) can make up to $14, but typically pay rates are decided by the facility you’re trained to provide, location of the company which hires you to be a travel nurse and the clinical specialty in which you gained one or two years’ hospital-based experience. The average salary of an LPN travel nurse who is a fresh graduate ranges from $32,200 to $32,400 annually (nurses with 20 years of experience are earning around $92,000 annually); depending on the amount of time you’re willing to dedicate to travel assignments. Some companies are also paying LPN’s between $17 and $28 per hour.

Apart from that, travel reimbursement, medical and dental coverage and bonuses from time to time are also offered by most companies. Bonuses are usually paid at the end of an assignment. Travel nursing companies also offer referral bonuses, as well as tenure bonuses in the form of incentive programs, so that you choose to be a travel nurse in future as well and for the same company. Travel reimbursement is usually paid at the rate of 20 cents per mile. Many companies hire nurses whose facility offers a shift differential. For LPN/LVNs, salaries are flat at best. The average annual income reported by LPN/LVNs in 2004 was $32,400, versus $32,800 in 2003 - a 1% decrease. Factors that influence income include certification, experience, education and location.
